The SC92-21-J is a handheld portable conductivity meter designed by Yokogawa for measuring the conductivity of liquids in the field or laboratory. It provides reliable measurements from low-conductivity water to high-salinity solutions, making it suitable for water quality monitoring, environmental testing, and industrial process control.
The SC92-21-J covers a broad conductivity range of 0 to 2.00 S/cm and low-conductivity measurements down to 0 to 2.00 µS/cm. It also offers resistivity readings up to 200 MΩ·cm. Users can switch display units between µS/cm, mS/cm, S/cm, and Ω·cm directly on the device.
Typical accuracy for the SC92 series is ±1% of the reading, depending on the selected measurement range. Resolution can be as fine as 0.01 µS/cm in the lowest range and 0.001 mS/cm in higher ranges, ensuring precise readings across various sample types.
Do not use the device in environments with the risk of electrical shock and avoid touching the electrode immediately after immersion in very hot solutions to prevent burns. Handle the glass sensor carefully to avoid breakage and observe electrostatic discharge precautions when inserting batteries or connecting sensors.
Install two AA batteries and power on the device.
Select the desired measurement unit.
Rinse the sensor with distilled water and immerse it fully into the sample.
Gently stir or tap the sensor to release any trapped air bubbles.
Wait for the stability indicator to appear on the screen, then record the measurement.
Rinse the sensor again and store it according to the manual instructions.
Calibration should be performed regularly using manufacturer-supplied standard solutions. Enter calibration mode, immerse the sensor in the calibration solution, wait for stability, and confirm the calibration when the “OK” or stability symbol appears. Always follow the user manual’s detailed calibration procedure for best results.
With two AA batteries installed, the meter can operate continuously for approximately 200 hours, depending on backlight usage and measurement frequency. Remove batteries when the device will not be used for extended periods to prevent leakage. Batteries must be disposed of in compliance with local regulations and environmental standards.
After each use, clean the sensor with distilled water or the recommended cleaning solution and dry it gently with a soft cloth. Store the meter and sensors in the provided carrying case in a cool, dry place. Remove batteries if the device will be unused for long periods to avoid damage from leakage.
The full user’s manual for the SC92 series, including the SC92-21-J model, is available online (document IM 12D03E02-02EN) and please contact QTE Technologies (qtetech.com/en). The product comes with a 12-month warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship, excluding consumable parts like electrodes and batteries.
The SC92-21-J accepts standard conductivity sensors from Yokogawa, including general-purpose probes for industrial water and high-sensitivity probes for ultrapure water. Accessories include calibration solution kits, protective caps, and carrying cases designed to fit the meter and probes.
