SKF's food line Y-bearing units are an innovative solution to washroom-related problems such as corrosion and premature bearing failure. Eliminate the human error of misusing grease to prevent contamination and improve productivity. SKF Foodline Y bearings consume less grease, eliminate the need for relubrication and reduce waste.
composite housing
The Y-bearing housing is made from a thermoplastic composite, making it strong, lightweight and chemically resistant. Resistant to citric acid, cooking oils and most food and beverage additives. A steel coil built into the housing increases the breaking strength of the Y-bearing ring. The base is filled with polyamide to allow for surface-to-surface mounting, eliminating gaps and preventing contaminant build-up. Stainless steel bolt hole inserts ensure stability, increasing strength and preventing corrosion. Housing designs include plummer blocks (SY series) and tapped bases (SYF series).
