It also functions as a deformable filler and thread lubricant, sealing joints without hardening and allowing for easy tightening and loosening of threads. The tape measure is wound on a spool, making it easy to wrap around pipe threads. Made of chemically inert PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene), this non-adhesive tape is suitable for use in harsh environments where acids, gases, and solvents are present.
