1/ What is the Climomaster KANOMAX 6541-21 probe?
The 6541-21 is a uni-directional hot-wire probe designed to measure both air velocity and temperature simultaneously. It connects to the Climomaster handheld meter for HVAC, environmental monitoring, and laboratory research applications.
2/ What applications is this probe best suited for?
Typical uses include airflow measurements at supply and return vents, performance checks on ventilation and filtration systems, cleanroom monitoring, R&D in aerodynamic studies, and any scenario requiring precise hot-wire sensing in ductwork or open spaces.
3/ What is the wind speed measurement range and accuracy?
• Range: 0.10 to 30.0 m/s (20 to 6,000 fpm) • Accuracy: ±2% of reading or ±0.015 m/s, whichever is greater
4/ What is the temperature measurement range and accuracy?
• Range: –20 °C to 70 °C (–4 °F to 158 °F) • Accuracy: ±0.5 °C (±1 °F)
5/ What is the sensor’s response time?
The hot-wire element responds in under one second to changes in air velocity, providing real-time readings suitable for dynamic airflow environments.
6/ Which meters is the 6541-21 probe compatible with?
It is fully compatible with the Climomaster KANOMAX 6501 and 6502 series handheld anemometers, as well as any Climomaster base unit that supports the standard hot-wire interface.
7/ What type of cable and connector does it use?
Comes with a 2 m (6.6 ft) shielded cable and a quick-release plug that mates to the meter’s hot-wire port. Custom lengths up to 10 m can be ordered.
8/ How is the probe calibrated?
Calibration can be performed at an authorized Kanomax service center or in-house using an ISO-3966 traceable airflow calibration rig. Recommended interval is every 6–12 months.
9/ How should I clean and care for the hot-wire element?
Use a soft brush or low-pressure canned air to remove dust. Avoid touching or bending the wire. Do not use solvents or abrasive materials on the sensing tip.
10/ What is the recommended calibration frequency?
To maintain peak accuracy, schedule a full calibration every 6–12 months, depending on usage intensity and environmental conditions.
11/ What environmental conditions are acceptable for operation?
• Temperature: –20 °C to 70 °C (–4 °F to 158 °F) • Relative humidity: <95% (non-condensing) • Avoid environments with heavy particulate, oily mists, or corrosive gases.
12/ Are there any precautions to prevent damage?
Do not drop or flex the probe rod. Avoid inserting into turbulent flame or extreme pressure zones. Always store the probe in its protective cap when not in use.
13/ What accessories are provided with the probe?
• Protective cap for the sensing tip • 2 m (6.6 ft) shielded cable • User manual • Optional NIST-traceable calibration certificate
14/ Can I order additional or longer cables?
Yes. Standard cable is 2 m, but lengths up to 10 m are available to suit installation requirements.
15/ What is the warranty policy?
The probe is covered by a limited warranty from the date of shipment. Extended warranty and on-site calibration contracts can be arranged through Kanomax distributors as QTE Technologies.
16/ Where can I buy and get technical support?
Contact QTE Technologies (qtetech.com/en).
