IDEM Guardian Line GLS-SS Stainless Steel Safety Rope Pull Switch
IDEM's Guardian Line GLS-SS is a safety rope pull switch with a stainless steel 316 housing designed to withstand the harsh environments found in the food and pharmaceutical industries.
Fixing holes are located under the switch's cover to prevent food ingress, and rugged IP69K sealing with stainless steel components and built-in bellows and gaskets ensures it can withstand chemical and detergent washdowns.
Designed to be mounted on sections of a machine or conveyor that cannot be protected by a guard, the switch can be activated from any point on the rope, unlike an emergency stop, providing robust emergency stop protection.
When used in conjunction with a dual channel safety monitoring relay these safety rope switches can be used as emergency stop devices and can monitor up to Category 4 of EN 954-1 or PLe ISO 13849-1.
Compliant with ISO 13850 and IEC 60947-5-5, the Guardian Line has a positive-acting mechanical link between the switch contacts and the wire rope, and also provides wire break monitoring.
When the rope is pulled (at any point on the rope), the safety contacts open and the auxiliary contacts close.
The switch is mechanically latched and to return it to an operational state the blue reset button must be pressed, as required by ISO 13950.
