1/ What is the HAKKO 393-1 Vacuum Pick-Up Tool?
The 393-1 is a portable, manual dropper-type vacuum pick-up pen designed for handling micro and surface-mounted components without the need for any power source or external pump. It’s made from anti-static materials and fits easily in your pocket for precision electronic assembly work.
2/ What is its maximum pick-up capacity?
The tool can generate up to 40 gf of suction force, which is achieved when using the largest nozzle/pad combination (A1165 or A1486 nozzle with a φ10 mm pad) and depends on the component’s surface finish.
3/ What are its dimensions and weight?
The 393-1 has a slim, pen-type body measuring 13 mm in diameter and 132 mm in length. Its weight is approximately 19 g, excluding any attached nozzle or pad.
4/ Which nozzles and pads are compatible with the 393-1?
Nozzles (only A1165 or A1486 fit the tool):
A1165 – bent 1.1 mm nozzle with stopper
A1486 – straight 1.1 mm nozzle with stopper
Pads (conductive silicone rubber):
A1166 – φ3 mm, ~3 gf suction
A1312 – φ5 mm, ~10 gf suction (optional)
A1167 – φ7 mm, ~18 gf suction
A1311 – φ10 mm, ~40 gf suction Nozzles must be used in combination with pads to create effective suction.
5/ How do I operate the vacuum pick-up tool?
Select and attach the appropriate nozzle and pad.
Press the button on the pen body to expel air and create vacuum.
Place the pad gently onto the component surface to pick it up.
Release the button to secure the component.
Press again to release the component or to swap pads/nozzles as needed.
6/ Is it safe for handling ESD-sensitive components?
Yes. The body, nozzle, and pads are made of anti-static (ESD-safe) materials to prevent electrostatic discharge during handling of delicate electronic parts.
7/ Can I store spare nozzles and pads on the tool?
Spare nozzle and pad combinations can be conveniently stored in the rear end of the pen for quick access during work sessions.
8/ Can I use the 393-1 to vacuum dust or debris?
No. The tool is specifically designed for picking up micro-components. Vacuuming dust or other particulate matter can clog the internal filter and render the tool inoperable.
9/ What replacement parts are available?
Nozzles: A1165 (bent 1.1 mm), A1486 (straight 1.1 mm)
Pads: A1166 (3 mm), A1312 (5 mm), A1167 (7 mm), A1311 (10 mm) All parts are available through Hakko’s global distributors and carry the same anti-static properties as the originals.
10/ What comes in the box when I purchase the 393-1?
The standard kit includes the 393-1 vacuum pick-up pen, a bent nozzle (A1165), pads A1166, A1167, A1311, and an instruction manual.
11/ Where can I purchase the HAKKO 393-1?
You can order directly from QTE Technologies. Prices and availability vary by region.
