Features

This is the Whatman chromatography paper with the fastest water absorption rate. It is a thick paper with a fairly soft surface and is primarily used for electrophoresis of polymeric compounds.
Note: For testing and research purposes only.
Absorption rate: If the filter paper thickness and solute spot amount are constant, the slower the absorption rate, the higher the separation ability.
Thickness: Increasing the amount of sample or increasing the concentration to increase the amount of solute spotted will decrease the resolution of the chromatography paper. In this case, if you use thicker filter paper, the decrease in resolution will be less noticeable unless you are concerned about changes in water absorption rate.
Basis weight: The amount of sample that can be spotted is proportional to the basis weight. Therefore, the higher the basis weight, the more sample can be spotted.
