4. What materials can I punch with this set?
Ideal for cutting:
Rubber and gasket materials
Leather and fabrics
Cardboard, paperboard, and plastics
Felt, cork, and soft composites
Avoid extremely hard, brittle, or very thick materials that exceed the punch’s design limits.
Loosen the setscrew on the handle-chuck with the supplied Allen key.
Insert the punch shank fully into the chuck.
Tighten the setscrew securely so the punch can’t slip.
For ring cuts, mount two punches back-to-back (twinning) before tightening.
Retract the centering pin, align it on your mark, and apply firm, square blows to the impact head.
The handle’s reinforced impact head incorporates an internal damper that absorbs hammer shock. Benefits include:
Reduced user fatigue
Cleaner strikes and straighter cuts
Extended tool life
“Twinning” means fitting two punches of different diameters into the chuck simultaneously. When struck, the outer punch cuts the outer circle and the inner punch cuts the core, creating a perfect ring in one motion.
Yes. Individual punches, handle-chucks, and centering pins are available from QTE Technologies (qtetech.com/en). Contact us with the exact diameter or part number needed.
After use, clean metal shavings from the punches with a brush.
Lightly oil punches and chuck if storing longer than a week.
Keep all components in the molded polypropylene case to protect against moisture and impact.
Store in a dry environment below 30 °C, away from direct sunlight.
Always wear eye protection to guard against flying chips.
Use sturdy, non-marring work surfaces (e.g., a hardened anvil or bench block).
Ensure the punch is perfectly perpendicular to the workpiece before striking.
Never exceed recommended material hardness - this prevents punch deformation or breakage.
Its robust design, anti-vibration features, and full size range make JLB250PA equally at home in:
Production and maintenance workshops
Automotive gasket fabrication
Leatherworking and craft studios
Laboratory sample preparation

Punch not cutting through: Check that material hardness is under the punch’s limit and that the punch is seated and tightened in the chuck.
Ragged or tapered hole: Ensure a flat striking surface and square blows; refresh punch cutting edge if dulled.
Punch jams in material: Clear waste debris from inside the punch barrel before continuing.
