3 block system
The Biometra TRIO thermocycler features three separate blocks and a heat lid.
Multi-block technology allows three blocks to run different protocols in parallel.
High performance aluminum block
The Biometra TRIO thermocycler uses a high-speed aluminum block.
Additionally, Biometra TRIO sample blocks are lightweight to enable rapid temperature control.
When the heat lid is closed, the lid's rubber seal seals the sample block.
This maintains the temperature uniformity of the block, making it possible to achieve excellent temperature uniformity even at the highest temperatures.
Block Control: The Biometra TRIO block has temperature control that suppresses under or overshoot of the set temperature.
Clutch mechanism (High-Performance Smart Lid: HPSL)
The slip clutch of the heated lid system called HPSL is designed to apply constant pressure regardless of the shape and height of the tube or plate.
The lock will spin freely in the proper position, so you can't overtighten it. This provides highly reproducible results.
When the heat lid is closed, the lid's rubber seal seals the sample block.
Sealing the sample block increases temperature uniformity and prevents condensation during the cooling step after PCR is completed.
User management function (Advanced User Management: AUM)
Biometra TRIO software can manage a total of 30 user accounts with three types of user privileges (administrator, user with general privileges, and user with limited privileges).
Administrator can set privileges for each user.
Access to devices can be restricted to authorized users.
Managing with user accounts and passwords avoids unnecessary changes to system settings and PCR protocols. (You can also disable the tool in the software if you don't want to use the management features)

In many cases, limited optimization experiments can lead to nonspecific amplification and decreased PCR efficiency.

PCR programs can be easily edited in either a spreadsheet or graphical screen by touching the parameters you want to change and entering the desired values.
